Mexican-German soprano Ana Schwedhelm is based in Berlin, where she has recently appeared at the Neuköllner Oper and the Humboldt Forum as Consuelo Velázquez in Bésame Mucho and in the world premiere of Diana Syrse’s Mexico Aura. Her operatic roles include Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Elle (La Voix humaine), the title role in Rusalka, Hélène (La Belle Hélène), Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) and Marzelline (Fidelio), on stages in Germany, Spain, the United Kingdom, Greece and Mexico.
In concert she is particularly associated with Falla’s The Three-Cornered Hat, which she has sung with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg and the Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería under Carlos Miguel Prieto. She has performed Bach, Handel and Mozart with conductors including Trevor Pinnock and Laurence Cummings, at St Martin-in-the-Fields and the London Handel Festival, and Mahler’s Fourth Symphony in Spain.
A committed recitalist, she has a long-standing partnership with pianist Rubén Fernández Aguirre, with whom she has appeared at the Granada International Festival of Music and Dance and at Bilbao’s Teatro Arriaga. With the Trío Arbós she gave the world premiere of Roberto Sierra’s Variaciones de soledad y esperanza at the Música Sur festival. Her current projects include duos with guitarists Morgan Szymanski and Eric Trejo, exploring Spanish and Mexican song.
Ana trained at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Mexico City, the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she was awarded the DipRAM, and the Conservatorio Joaquín Rodrigo in Valencia, and was a member of the Académie du Festival d’Aix-en-Provence. She is a prizewinner of the Concurs Jaume Aragall and was a finalist in the Armel Competition and the Richard Lewis Award, among others.

Im Konzertbereich ist sie besonders mit Manuel de Fallas Der Dreispitz verbunden, den sie mit dem Royal Scottish National Orchestra, dem Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg und der Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería unter Carlos Miguel Prieto aufführte. Werke von Bach, Händel und Mozart sang sie unter Dirigenten wie Trevor Pinnock und Laurence Cummings, unter anderem in St Martin-in-the-Fields und beim London Handel Festival, sowie Mahlers Vierte Sinfonie in Spanien.

En el repertorio sinfónico destaca su vínculo con El sombrero de tres picos de Falla, que ha cantado con la Royal Scottish National Orchestra, la Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg y la Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería bajo la dirección de Carlos Miguel Prieto.
